It is very confusing that the eBay seller is calling it an EA1251B when an EA1251B is this thing -

http://www.clarion.com/us/en/products/2 ... 42979.html

and it is totally different from the device pictured in the eBay ad.

The device in the eBay ad would be cool if it meant to you didn't have to do the stupid playlist thing like the actual EA1251B above forces you to do.

I wonder is it a genuine Clarion product? All I've ever wanted is a unit that allows direct control of the iPod rather than having to use playlists. Is this it? Who knows! It definately isn't an EA1251B though (and I definately don't want one of those anyway).

* sigh *

I'd definitely say they are not 'clarion' brand, but more designed for a clarion unit.

I recon I'll bite the bullet and see what happens. Only $80

Yeah, same here, I might jump on too. That is assuming there is more than one. I don't want to 'steal' yours. Let know (via PM if you wish) when you've secured the one you found. I assume you'll do it within the next day.

As I recall, to use the Pie Clr-Aux you have to have another CENET device connected to the end of the cable.

Its pretty simple I'd say about 3 out of 10 for hardness :)
After removing the stereo it just plugs in the back via the 13p CeNet plug.
then just plug in the phone and hit the CD button twice on the headunit ([CHG] displays on the McIntosh ) and after hitting play on your ipod your songs play perfectly :D

Just be warned, I bought an Axxess after market cable (CeNet to iPod plug/3.5mm jack), and it fried my head unit. Same idea as the Clarion unit. I have seen other posts saying that it works, but you a can ask Ric and tangcla about my unit if you don't believe me.
My Subie is sad - fried head unit. On the upside, it means it's time to upgrade!!!
Progress report - have installed Japanese McIntosh unit for the short term... Thanks Ric!
Progress report - double DIN fascia plate arrived
Progress report - inquiring on an amp

So sorry to hear that. Was it this that you tried?

I have one of these on order and if this is the same as what fried your unit then I will be reluctant to try it.
