Cool, see that's the one thing I'm curious about, whether or not that cubby hole replacement part has a 2xDIN space or not, I read through the Car PC forum and judging by the pics on it, the size has to be extremely close.

I can understand why a flip down screen model cannot be used but a fixed one should be OK (like that Pioneer one) but it's probably one of those things where you would need a unit and the spare cubby thing in front of you to verify fit.

Actually, if you ever want to do what I said in the above paragraph, one of my mates works at the Strathfield in Mount Druitt on weekends doing stereo installs, we'd be fine to see him and play around with a new for test fit purposes.

Let me know, I'm pretty curious.
Now that I'm in North America, I'm greatly concerned about raised pick-up trucks and owners of wedge shaped vehicles. Seriously, not only do you have to be concerned about one hitting you in an accident, they stand a good chance of driving over you at the same time!

I've posted a few times on this topic, the genuine Subaru parts H00915AG915 and H0015AG932 are 200x100mm vs 185x115mm respectively - standard double DIN size is 180x100mm. So either way you'll have to make a blanking plate.

PLUS the brackets provided will not work, so you need to make custom brackets to suit as well.

Ye Gads Man, we are in Australia, have you not heard of Duct Tape (you know, I think I may have been working as a Housing Commission Builder a bit too long now)

Tangcla, cheers for that...I don't have much on today so i shall go trawling the old forum stuff again

Hi Sean, I rang up the Paramtta dealership to ask the same question you did and they told me that they don't sell the Pioneer Integrated Unit there, and they only sell the factory Sat-Nav for our model. :? :? confused

Cheers George :)

Weird, I was in there two weeks ago and got the price from the lady who runs the accessories section. Ah well, not to worry...

...Did you happen to ask what the factory nav set up was worth?

Sorry Guys, to come in late on the original topic.

In August I ordered & received the Clarion EA1251 (approx $100 AUD) for patchng in the ipod plus I ordered & received the Clarion Auxilliary Audio Switcher Part No: CLR-AUX (approx $100 AUD) from a company called PIE (USA) for patching my kids video (audio only) through the Mac.
I found them easy to install, left no visible holes anywhere and Im certainly nothing near an electrician.
They work absolutely fine (as mentioned in other chats- the ipod does lose some herbs), and they keep working, even after I JAMMED the flamin CD player (another project nearly fixed).

If these options are of interest, let me know I'll find some links and/ or photos.

these are all pulled out of my old falcon. so basicly i need to wire up 12 speakers to a 4 channel amp, and 2 subs to my monoblock and hook up the headunit and screen. easy done for unit and screen, but whats the best way with wiring up so many speakers to only 4 channels.

Clarion EA1251 came from Ebay supplier "ipodmp34capa" - delivery was about 2 weeks.
PIE CLR-AUX came from http://www.pie.net/ - delivery about the same.

PIE still advertise their unit but I dont know if ipodmp34capa have any Ea1251 left.

Hope this helps.
P.S I wont be able to open up the install for photos again until 2 weeks.

Will post photos then to this post.

Cheers

Looks good. Wonder if the seller has only one? I'd be tempted to get it as well but don't want to take it from you.
