http://www.xcarlink.com/show_info.asp?product_ID=353 probably wont work with the mcintosh because all the sound travels via a round din cable to the amp under the seat. the connections on the 14pin plug are for power only.

Time to bring up an old thread.
Ive been trying desperately to find the answer somewhere on ASN, but no one seems to address the specific problem titled on this thread. AUX Solutions specific to the MY04-06 models.
Here is situation:
- I do not use an iPod and thus only want a simple, cheap aux for the back of my McIntosh system.
- I dont not want song titles on the HU
- I dont need to change songs with the wheel

All I want is a plain old AUX. Is there a cable out there that can acheive this?
so far, my research has lead me to the Axxess AIP-CL-ID
However this unit is designed for iPod.

Anybody?

The Axxess AIP-CL-ID has both an iPod connector and a 3.5mm stereo connector. The latter can be used as a generic aux-in to provide exactly what you want. It works really well.

So I'm confused.

What's the cheapest way to get Aux In into the McIntosh system? I have a 04 MY05 3.0R-B

Thanks.

Hi mate I'd highly recommend an "Advanced ICE" unit. It's a little box that you can connect yourself into the back of the factory CD player and gives you a crystal clear AUX input. You simply press the DISC button to activate it; pressing DISC again will switch to the CD player.

They retail for $199 but I'm actually just about to put mine up on eBay as just last week I installed an aftermarket system in my MY06 3.0R-B. If you wanted it I can provide you with more details when I get home?

You might provide more specifics as regards your model/year/grade etc.
