Hi all,

Is it worth replacing the stock speakers with something a bit better with the McIntosh stereo? A few of my speakers have a buzz to them, and I was considering replacing them - I'm keen to know if there's any conventional wisdom floating around as to what should be used.

I'll be trying to eliminate some rattles in the interior at the same time... :)

My mate has been a fan of Phoenix Gold speakers for quite some time. Always dynamat's his doors and then fits some of these speakers and without a sub, it certainly makes a hell of a difference in SQ. They are also quite inexpensive too.

Apparently Belconnen in the ACT is the closest dealer to me (in West Ryde, Sydney)...

Oh right. That's gay. Hmm, well yeah you need to be able to listen to the speakers before you buy no doubt. Speakers I have had in the past were Alpine. Ive heard the Focals too. Another brand to look into is DLS Audio. I have the DLS home theatre speakers for home and rate them highly.
