Not sure when this appeared, but a quick search just now for torrents shows there is another torrent available for V20 C2. Seems to have more seeds than the torrent created by AnthonyB.

Sheesh, they could've at least had the sense to compress to .ISO file - would've made the download less than half the size.... still if it works reliably then that's great!

Does v20 software update change the layout or any functionality? I think I'm running a burnt copy of v19 at the moment. I still have to keep original dvd for battery resets. The screen looks similar to the original version that came with the car.

Does the latest version have speed camera warnings? or anything new?

Not as far as I know. It'd be nice if it updated the menus or made the map resolution a bit better (it's a bit grainy/blocky). But all these updates do is new maps. So there might be newly built roads that weren't in the old map data, but now are. But nothing else.

That's a shame, I was hoping the software update would include new features/layout. I definitely agree with you that the menu and map itself looks very dated.

Yeah, I wonder if a software update actually exists. If anyone who buys a genuine Subaru DVD gets that. But these discs are just Map updates, and are not advertised as anything else.

Hi Buddy,
After installation, I checked my version shown in my screen is 2013 version 9000. Is this sounds right?
Cheers

Hmm, mine says this (pic below). I am using C1.
The 2014 Maps are v20 for Australia and V9 for NZ. So your 'version 9000' sounds correct. Just strange that it says 2013.

Hey all, I was looking around for the V20 C1.. I was trying to use the V20 C2 but my poor liberty MY07 didn't like it too much and just showed fuzzy pictures on my dash. I have tried to get it online torrent but I can't find it anywhere, I also think they price of the disc from whereis is very overpriced!! Can anyone help?

Cheers

V20 C1: https://www.limetorrents.cc/Whereis-v20 ... 28227.html

Toyota sat nav discs are C1 and will work in Subaru nav units needing the C1 version as far as I'm aware.

C2 I'm 99% sure. My Gen4 uses C1 but Gen5s all use C2 afaik.

I was reading my SatNav Manual today, and spotted this: “Reset Button...used when you need to upgrade the program”

And on the next page “The reset button is also used when you need to upgrade the program. Insert an upgrade disc and press the reset button”.
"Before you load a DVD-ROM Disc for the first time, press the Reset button for more than one second. Use the tip of a pen or similar.

Interesting! Does anyone know anything about this? I will try it out, but I flattened my battery today :? .

We know map updates seem to work just fine by inserting a new disc (without pressing that button). I wonder if that’s more of a menu software/firmware update.

This one needs to be burnt to a DVD+R DL and apparently doesn't work on some post 2010 vehicles. When burning, make sure you change the line break to 1261456 as the included MDS is incorrect.

Downloaded via the above and burnt at 6x speed using a TDK DVD+R DL (bought from OfficeWorks in a 5-pack). I used ImgBurn V2.5.8.0 (http://imgburn.com/index.php?act=download and made sure I corrected the layer break as stated elsewhere to 1261456 from the ISO's original 1261441 in 'User Specified' [found under Tools>Settings>Write>Option>Layer Break].

Now have a successfully running Sat Nav running WhereIs V20... :D :D :D

Got a lot of info at http://www.gpspower.net/toyota-lexus/328138-toyota-lexus-whereis-v20-au-nz-2014-a-3.html as well as here and it was a pretty painless process. Stoked now as I've come from V12... :P

Thanks to everyone at this and the gpspower forum for the help... :)
