hi, im new to the forums and im very much a noob when it comes to cars.
i recently bought a 2009 Liberty GT Spec.B MY09 and im just curious is to if i can change the McIntosh deck.
Im only wanting to change it to get more functions out of my stereo in the car. (example bluetooth/ipod functions/more).
As most of you would know the McIntosh desk/air con is 1 major faceplate and not really able to change it.
Ive found a few other things through the forums but im unsure of models and such, but i have seen the panel as a split panel.
Can anyone supply more information to me about it.
Would muchly appreciate it.

http://www.japanparts.com/db/parts_deta ... RCH_page=3 - select Rev D-F and most likely dual zone AC for your car. Or you can email sales@garage88.com.au

Bear in mind though that when upgrading the McIntosh system it's more than just installing a new HU.

If you're willing to pay - FHRX.

Problem with the McIntosh is it isn't amplified hence the amp under the seat. All your speaker wires run to there. You need to re route the speaker wire to behind the head unit or install an aftermarket amplifier. You'll lose channels though.

No idea. I did mine myself. As I said, for top notch installations go to FHRX. Avoid places like JB Hifi and Autobarn - they're idiots.

Not worth it. They have juniors who rip and cut into everything. They're on a mission to install only and they don't give two hoots about your car. They've got better things to do.

You either pay a proper installer to do it who understands pride in one's work, or do it yourself (honestly, do the latter - you learn something about your car and you'll have greater satisfaction with your install. You will also quickly discover that cars are made like Lego - easy to pull apart and put back together again).
