What To Look For In Aftermarket HU
Posted: Sat Sep 07, 2013 11:44 pmI've just picked up an 08 Legacy here in Japan and need a nav unit. It's had one in it but it was pulled out by the previous owner. He did however leave me with the DD facia 
so I'm at least one step in the right direction.
I need Nav, phone/iPod, and the Mrs would like DVD with ext monitor out for a visor monitor. What should I look for spec wise and what are things I should avoid? Coming from Jindabyne I've never needed more than a Tomtom style nav. I don't need anything fancy with subs, a bunch of speakers, crossovers etc just music, maps, and hands free. If the Mrs can watch DVDs on a long trip that a bonus but not essential. I'm not after models as everything here in Japan is different just an idea of what's good and what's bad.
