I have a weird problem with my stereo.

The volume seems to fade in and out sometimes with no apparent pattern to it.
Happens on both FM and AUX modes too.

Anyone had this happen before or know what i can look at to fix it?

This seems to be happening a bit more often now.

Rather then the volume fading, it appears that the front speakers are dopping in and out.
I was driving around for 10 minutes with only rear speakers at one stage.

Any idea what could be causing it? Loose wire or connection perhaps?
Driving over bumps certainly does cause it to drop in and out.

Has it ever had after-market speakers, etc in it?

Sounds like a loose connection. Check the connections to/from stereo and amp. If the entire from both front speaks drop off, it's probably not a connection issue at the speaker end, but check it anyway.

Never had aftermarket speakers as far as i know.

It does seem like all 8 door speakers stop, not sure on the center one though.

I will make some time to check out the amp. Is it easy to get to or will i have to remove the seat? Hopefully i can use the electric adjustment to lift it high enough to look.

IIRC the connector to the amp is at the front, so try sliding it all the way back (tho I don't think you'll be able to reach it)

Seat is only 4 bolts and a couple of connectors so pretty easy to remove anyway
