For me I positioned it so that it has:
- 20mm on left
- 20mm on right
- 2mm on bottom
- 4mm on top (more here to do the top to bottom swipe more easily)

The problem isnt so much the black border around the display. You will need to make sure the fascia with the smaller hole opening will allow the tablet to be mounted behind it. H0017AG915 just has enough space to fit the 2013 tablet behind it as the vents are narrower than the stock cubby. Im not sure if the fascia with the smaller hole opening has the same narrower vents.

Great setup you got going. I've always wished for bluetooth handfree but I havent found a way to do it with my iPhone, tablet and stock headunit combo.

I have double bluetooth on my setup. Phone paired to Anycarlink into the CD changer port on the HU and then a Belkin BT receiver into the aux port on the Anycarlink. Phone takes preference over the tablet and can answer and hang up calls from the steering controls.
Because my phone is android I have the added bonus of having tablet talk to see who is calling, but I could live without it if I had an iPhone.

i think the H0017AG932 has the exact same vent sizes on the side as the H0017AG915. would anyone have a picure of the nexus 7 installed with a H0017AG932?

Assuming ~932 is stock cubby/clock; no it won't fit in directly. You will need to cut some slots into the air vents to allow the N7 drop down into the gap. You will also need to cut off the fascia between where the clock was, and the cubby.

~932 is not a stock cubbyclock, its a jdm fascia just with a difference size opening. i just wanted to clarify if they are there same size as ~915 and if someone has the ~932 installed with the nexus 7.

i'm only looking at running the nexus 7 with an tactrix 2.0 connected with a otg y cable purely for logging and displaying gauges, nothing for music or nav or a usb hub like others. it will be a nexus 7 with timurs kernel. will i need to use a 12v to 5v 5a converter? just in regards to the fast charging system timurs kernal allows 1500mah charging max, would i be okay just to use a usb 2.1 amp tablet female usb socket?

5A converter is good because it'll have extra heatsinks and should last well. 2.1A socket should be fine.

All electrical devices only use the amperage they need.

A 1.5A device will only use a maximum of 1.5A of a 5A supply. In this example, what's left can power two more 1.5A devices with 0.5A leeway.

Nothing. Think of it like a water tap - it can open a long way, but rarely do you do so. You never use full water pressure.
