Finally had some time to rip the Mac out and fiddle with the connectors. I had a win in as much as the GROM was finally recocnised and everything seemed to work aside from...... no sound out of the speakers and no SWC :?

Bluetooth worked, my dad could hear me talking but i couldn't hear anything.
The GROM showed up on my iPhone as an Airplay device.
iPod paused and played when switching modes.
iPod charged.
But never any sound.

Then this morning i got nothing again. The unit wasn't picked up at all after a double tap of the CD button.

Pissed as i (Mark) drilled a hole in the console for the iPod cable and now i'm going to have to send the mofo back. LAMO.
Maybe i'll see if they can send another GROM box for me to try.

Balls!

Nope, i don't have a micro SD blah blah... sounds like hard work. Have emailed Cushie to see what they think. Hope they'll just send me a new Grom box with the updated firmware.

FYI i have a PF-28241 McIntosh.

Reply from Cushie Audio... bow bow. Time to rip it out.

Since speaking with you last time there have been a few more developments on which McIntosh Radios are working. We have found that the PF-28241 manufactured in China are the only ones that work correctly. All Japanese manufactured radios like yours unfortunately are very buggy with problems ranging from not being detected, to being detected but no stereo control etc.

So the only option at this point is a refund of your products.

Yeah, but I think it was attributed to a loose connection. Since securing the connection with tape, everything seems to be ok.
Anyway I'm glad that Cushie are easy to deal with. Needless to say, I don't recommend the Grom to anyone anymore.

guys, not sure if this is the right thread but I reckon it is... I have the GROM USB2+ linked with my stock head unit : GX-201KH, which is on the list of supported devices. Seems like bluetooth is working ok, I haven't tested the usb with usb stick, but what I cannot get to run properly is the 'ipod mode'. I have iphone 3gs with the ios5 on it. The phone charges ok, but it just doesn't play anything once I hit the play button on the phone, eventually it stops very quickly, seems like it's interrupted by the grom itself. The music runs just fine only in 'AUX mode'. Does anyone have any tips on how to get those two (phone and grom) to talk nicely, along with showing the tracks on the display? thanks...

thanks..well... I've had a closer look at the wiring diagram and realized I had it wrong as I've thought the EXT1 and EXT2 are both equal inputs but I was wrong :? . Rewired and now enjoying the music from all the sources I have!

Glad you got it worked out. Just for future reference.

EXT1 = Bluetooth Dongle or Auxiliary
EXT2 = iPod Cable or Auxiliary

Although auxiliary can be plugged into either EXT port be careful to only plug in the bluetooth dongle or iPod cable into the correct ports otherwise they will not function as expected.
