Got a response from GROM Audio in regards to my HU controls not working and not being able to change modes. Official response was, "we do not support McIntosh Radios"

Dear Cameron,

We do not support the Mcintosh Radios.
Although the GROM unit is recongized by the radio, you are seeing yourself the controls do not work. This is a known issue as some of our previous customer have reported to us. We cannot fix this issue as we do not have this same radio here. The reason why it is hard to get to work is because Subaru has different companies manufacturing their head units for them and each works differently.

Which one of our distributors did you purchase this from?

I got no bloody idea. Especially with yours and don's considering the stereo's are the same model.

Also McIntosh is owned by Clarion and the stereo product codes are Clarion product codes. Basically our stereo's are Clarion stereos but with McIntosh Amplifiers in them.

You and Don both got USB2P-SUB08 GROM units, yes?

Look at you all fancy with your steering wheel controls. Here I am in an 06 STI, pretty much the only high end model without them.. lol.

Yeh that's a bit fwukers. And you tried Don's GROM unit in your car?

Damn those meddling kids!!

Ah k, that shouldn't really matter though, especially if your steering wheel controls are working with everything else.

The thing that's really strange is that it started to work when we plugged the iPhone cable in. Then stopped.
Your more than welcome to test again once you get back.

Oh that's odd. Could be a cable/port fault. When Cushie are back at work, perhaps lodge a fault with them. They'll prob take the unit back, if determined faulty will send out a new one.

Cable's good works in mine.
I don't think it's that simple. Jake's(Bosco) unit didn't work at all.
