The guy i bought my gt wagon from said he replaced the rear speakers (back door) for some reason but i find they have very little sound coming from them. I also notice theres not much bass from the whole stereo even with the bass turned up all the way. Is this normal in all wagons? What are the standard speaker sizes? I would really like more bass without adding a sub.
Oh and i have the standard 4 speaker stereo not the mcintosh.

Check the fader settings.
You won't get big bass without a sub, particularly if you have the shitty Kenwood system. Btw it's a 6 speaker system; one in each door and tweeters in the front.
To improve on the bass install a set of splits up front, amplify them and change out the head unit also.

He may have installed them out of phase which will stuff any bass output, what little muddy bass there is from the oem stereo.

Whats out of phase mean? Would getting factory speakers fitted fix this problem? The speaker brand installed is a cheap no name brand ive never heard of. I guess he just put in anything to sell it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it means that the speakers have been wired 'back-to-front' i.e. the positive and negative terminals have the wrong wires attached.

One or more speakers could be wired back to front. Doesn't matter so much if all speakers are wired back to front. Problems arise when one or two of the speakers are wired incorrectly.
