Which model car do you have for a start mate?
Does it have a McIntosh stereo fitted or a standard stereo?

If it is a 6 stacker then it is most likely a McIntosh. It says McIntosh on the actual unit, right near where the disc's go in IIRC.
The thing to consider when you're thinking of putting in a DVD headunit, is obviously the fascia as you mentioned, but also the amplifier as the McIntosh system uses a amplifier under the passenger seat. Which is not generally compatible with aftermarket headunits.
There are probably a few threads bringing up relevant info if you have a quick look.
By the way, the cheapest double din fascia kits are either second hand ($300-$400) or brand new from Garage88 (formerly Phat GT), normally around the $400-$440 mark from memory.
Here's a second hand one for sale at the moment. A good price if you ask me. This will be sold very soon so get on it quick if you're keen.

It's not so much 'which one suits the car best' because really, there is no answer for that. You need to consider the features that you want in a double din HU. Navigation, Bluetooth etc.. I suggest letting us know what car you have, whether it currently has a McIntosh system or Kenwood system & what you're after in a HU.

Also, is it MY06 or MY07, because if it is a 2006 MY07 then the one linked above will not be the one you need.

As mentioned by others, that is not nearly enough information.
A photo of your car and your current head unit could probably settle the matter quickly.

I have done a couple of these - JVC make single din dvd playing HUs. If you have single zone AC, you need one type of dash replacement, dual zone needs a different one. I got mine from AVO. If you have a Mcintoss 6cd changer, with an amp, you need to work out if your HU has outputs that can be fed to the Mc amp (under pax seat), or only speaker outs. If only speaker outs, you can bypass the Mc amp, with a cable made for that - contact SVXDC on legacygt.org, or find him elsewhere in the audio section here. If you have line outputs, you can connect to the Mc amp - probably need a way to connect HU to the round multi pin plug already there - Again SVXDC may be able to help.
The JVC DV6105 I have has Both line outs and speaker outs, but i chose to throw the Mc amp, and feed straight to the speakers with a cable from SVX. A fair bit of work removing the old stuff, new facia (~$400 from Japan), and more work pulling the Mc amp cable out, and lacing the new one from HU to the speaker connector under pax seat. Well worth it though, sound is MUCH better than the Mc, IMHO. I dont miss the sub-woofer not being connected at all!

Pre-facelift.
The one in the for sale thread linked above will fit.

Add to that the fact that the stock HU is amplified so no need to run new speaker wires or change an amplifier so it's a very easy install

Aerpro make an adaptor to fit the Suby audio plug, you just need to wire from the HU to the leads of the adaptor. Yours is a single zone AC.
