Voltage output from mc amp?

Hey there,

Looking to install a sub in my 04 gt wagon. Has the mcintosh 13 speaker system.

I have an amp with high level inputs but that's only up to 6v.

I was wondering what kind of output would the stock sub be getting from the stock amp?

Is it as simple as hooking into the wiring going to the sub in the boot and running them to the amp or am I missing something?

I have done that it my car, works fine into an alpine monoblock amp

The only part is you may have to turn your amps cross over off as the head unit has already taken all the high frequency out of the signal so I found the second cross over was interfering with the sound quality ( some songs bass notes weren't coming out properly )

But all is good to go ahead with the install just run your positive cable to the battery ( with an inline fuse of course ) and a remote wire on to accessories somewhere or if you can find your actual remote turn on wire for the Macintosh amp even better as when you have your keys turned off accessories and radio still on in the car your sub amp will be on!
