Fascia hole size ? +

sorry if this has been already discussed but I'm getting blind these days browsing through forums..

can anyone please confirm the fascia hole size 174mm x 100mm ?
(http://www.avojdm.com/product_info.php? ... cts_id=152)

If so, how one can fit in the following unit
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/JVC-KW-AV70B ... 566wt_1342
which claims to have the size (the same on European specs)
Installation Size7-3/16'' x 4-3/8 x 6-5/16'' (182 x 111 x 160mm), Panel Size7-7/16'' x 4-5/8'' x 7/16'' (188 x 117 x 10mm). Aussie e-bay seller doesn't provide dimensions, price is good as well, 535$.
- or the other ones as Alpine-W520EBT, which claims to have the width of 178mm. That's wider than the fascia opening.

Any ideas to share on how to make the hole size larger to fit the unit in?

Pretty sure it will fit buddy

Ive got an Alpine W502 in mind.
Clarence had an Alpine W520 in his.
I know of a few people running Eclipse double dins.

No mods were made to the opening what so ever.

thanks for that. well I have my eyes set on that JVC unit, but have no idea on if it fits the hole. I reckon there is some extra space when Clarance put in the Alpine W520 which according the specs is 178mm. Again, can anyone measure up or confirm the hole dimensions for me?

hm. for that headunit they claim dimensions of 180 mm × 100 mm × 160 mm. So width-wise I should be ok though the JVC KW-AV70 is 182, but height-wise there is still 11mm extra needed. I'm shit scared to be honest..the whole upgrade is not cheap and I don't want to end up with a 500$ double-din unit I can't use or would have to hammer inside the fascia haha

I think what you will find is that is the chassis size. Not the actual screen size.

As you can see, there is a trim ring around the screen in that image. And the screen is much smaller than the actual chassis size.

When I installed my headunit, there was no more room for the trim ring. So it will fit buddy.
