Right,
I have an Alpine INA-W910R in my hot little hands & i'm about to embark on replacing the Mac in my 04 Liberty 3.0 wagon
I have already got a double din kit & info relocation kit from Phat, an Aerpro harness APP090, a steering wheel interface (can't tell you which one as i don't have it with me) & a box of various cables & bits n pieces.
Couple of questions.....
I'm looking to keep stock speakers (future upgrade) atm, but would like to upgrade the amp. Would it be wise to get a 5 channel amp & run it like the mac setup? ie 1 channel front right, 1 front left, 1 rear right, 1 rear left & 1 sub???
Possible amps here....
http://www.jbhifi.com.au/car-sound-gps- ... sku-97660/ or http://www.jbhifi.com.au/car-sound-gps- ... sku-97005/
Or would it be more beneficial going another way? 2 amps etc. Any suggestions on this?
I'm also going to run a carputer (thanks to the info found on this forum). Sony Vaio with a lilliput screen. Reason being is to have the ability to run DVD's, music etc for the Mrs & still have the ability to use nav & listen to my own music instead of the better halves dribble...
I'm sure i'll have a heap of other questions, but this should get me started.
If anyone has suggestions or advice feel free to let me know.
Big thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Rob

Nice purchase on the headunit mate.

One question before I begin, is the carputer really necessary? Everything you mentioned can be done from the headunit anyway. Plays DVD's and you can just swap out the USB stick/iPod with your music and your better halves 'dribble' when you require. I personally think in your situation a carputer could be money put to better use. But each to their own.

Regarding whether to go 5ch amp or 2 amps is dependent on your future upgrades. If you are looking at installing the amp in the current location, I'd go for either the Alpine MRX-V60 that you posted or an Alpine PDX-V9. The model that you ultimately choose will depend on what power requirements you will require further down the track but I'd personally go the V9. Mainly because its 100W RMS x 4 + 500W RMS x 1. This amp will leave you with many more options for speaker upgrades and subwoofer choice over the MRX-V60.

If you are thinking of running a sub down the track that is asking of over 500W RMS then I'd go for 2 amp setup.

When I first toyed around with my car audio, I was running my front speakers off channels 1+2 with channels 3+4 bridged on an Alpine PDX4.150. The rears were running off the headunit. Didn't sound too bad, but when I upgraded my sub to something with more kick, it required another amp so I'm now running a PDX1.1000 along side the PDX4.150. Currently channels 3+4 on the 4.150 arent being used as the rear speakers are still stock and are fine off the headunit for me.

Eitherway, I still have room for expansion on my 4channel if I wanted to replace rear speakers or if I wanted to run front speakers with more power (current speakers are rated at 125W RMS and are provided with 150W RMS).
