Attractive places to put in 8 speakers in a liberty

Hi Guys,

One of those odd question but here it is.

I have a Subaru liberty 1994 that I got a 7 DVD player with 3 amps 2 subwoofers and a capacitor connected.

I got these really nice looking 6*9 speakers with blue LED lights in them. I have 8 of these

I have put 4 speakers, 2 in the front doors and 2 at the back just on top of the rear seats

I have 4 spares that I also want to put into the car. I have a spare 4 channel amp

Now here is the question. Can people who have owned or seen a 94 liberty from inside suggest some nice and attractive places to put these speakers in so that they are on display.

People have suggested the rear doors. I am thinking but the interior may require some cosmetic modification

Any other places people can think of?

Please also note that the place suggested should be suitable to fit in the cone and magnet of the speaker

People will ask me why put 8 speakers and so on but guys seriously

Any valid suggestion would be appreciated

Google images has many photos but all require some sought of new interior pannels

Perhaps people with the newer libertys could suggest the locations of their speakers in a 8 speaker macintosh system

Thanks heaps

I highly doubt you are going to find any more stock locations to mount 6 x 9's without significant modifications.

The newer Liberty's with the 14 speaker McIntosh sound system have 4 in each front door, 1 coax speaker in each of the rears (however Subaru in all their wisdom count this as 2 speakers), 1 centre speaker in the middle of the dash and the subwoofer on the parcel shelf.

The 4 in each front door are 1 x 6", 1 x 4" and 2 x tweeters.

The only option that I can suggest is making a parcel shelf out of MDF and housing 4 of your 6x9s there. Add that to the two you have in the front doors already and you are only left with 2 more.

May I ask what you are trying to achieve with 8 6x9's in the car?

Parcel technique for the front doors - valid option I will look into it.

I thought so as well. The car will need serious modifications in the front doors to house 6*9 speakers I found the window was an issue with those in place. Subaru libertys do have very sophisticated interior panels and dashboard. Not a lot of space.

Crazy bet with a friend to see who has the loudest system! I know it sounds abit...

Thanks anyway.

If you want loud, I'd be installing a set of splits up front and then putting 4 6x9's on the parcel shelf. (Im assuming you have a sedan here as you didn't mention it in the first post).

You will have much less trouble fitting a set of splits in the front doors compared to 6x9's and you will get better sound from the front stage.

Below is an image of what I was referring to above. However that guy has used 4 7x10's rather than 6x9's.

The full thread can be found here if you want to do some reading. http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/for ... ge__st__30

First outing to a Bass Battle with that setup saw him get 128dB with a peak of 130dB on music. And thats without subs. I think he may have achieved more at a later date but I just cant be bothered reading that thread right now.

Yes this is for a sedan.

I suppose that is one way. A custom parcel shelf with 4 6*9 is nice.

It will have to sit securely on top of the existing one as seen in this picture. I think that's to allow extra height for speaker cone and magnet.

I will do this once the rear wind screen gets new tint.

Cheers

The best place for sik by nyns is generally in the bin and replaced by round components.

Same with capacitors

As above.

you have Subs.
no need for 6x9's

forget more speakers, and add better ones with more power behind them
you'll only need mids and tweeters as you'll have HP filters on them anyway

Get rid of the back seat and box it in. Fit all the speakers you want then.

I have nothing against 8 speakers, but 8 of the same 6x9 is not the best idea. You aren't going to get the best range of sound.

If you are going to do that stick one of these 24" subs in the back seat like they did way back on pimp my ride.
