Xcarlink - long delay on USB for podcasts

Postby raynman » Fri Apr 13, 2012 11:04 am

Just installed a Xcarlink USB, and apart from the lack of a display (may be a wrong pin out for the unit) works very well for music and would recommend for that.

However, I listen to a lot of podcasts and I find it is extremely slow in restarting - I have been waiting up to 3 minutes for the end of a 2 hour podcast to restart. The recommendation was split it up into smaller files :(. And the occassional lost spot as well is annoying as we are in the dark as far as elapsed time goes.

What I am wondering, is does anyone have the iPod version and listen to podcasts? I just want to find out if this problem is there for the ipod version as all the electronic grunt work should be done by the ipod, and not the adaptor itself like with the usb unit. Does anyone use the ipod, and find the long delay when restarting the podcast after listening for a while?

I don't have an ipod, but it annoys me enough that I would probably buy a second hand one.

Pity, as it is an otherwise great unit
