Kenwood DDX7036BT Install

Postby BLKD OUT » Wed Apr 11, 2012 12:27 am

Hi Guys,

I have an 05 3.0R with McIntosh System and have recently bought a Kenwood DDX7036BT.
Does anyone have any pointers for install?
Harness needed, McIntosh Amp wiring/connection etc.

Am I better off running the speakers off the HU or is the factory amp a better temporary option?
Keep in mind that this is the first step, the next steps are replacing the McIntosh amp & front stage,
Dynamat and twin 12"s with second Amp

Any guidance greatly appreciated.

You are going to have to hack up the DIN cable to be able to run the Mc amp via RCA.

Read through the audio section for the wiring harnesses you'll need to hook up the head unit.

It'll be easier to run the speakers from the amp.

Don't forget the fascia kit to install the headunit.

2 x 12's is overkill esp in a Subaru but depending on the hardware being used and the install and tuning it won't be too bad.
