I would be interested in a group buy...
I am curious to see if it works with the aux jack I already have installed and of course if it works with the MY07.
I believe the AUX jack and the anycarlink connect to different ports on the HU

Do you think it will work in my 2005 LIberty GT?

I have the Mcintosh HU that looks like this:

The AUX and Clarion ports are different.

Note that anything connected through AUX does not have any 'data' or 'commands' associated with it, it's just a line out from POD/MP3 player to the HU, so you should be able to do volume on the steering wheel controls, but that's all (no track info, no track select).

If you want any controls from the steering wheel or the HU (other than volume) then you must connect through the Clarion port (or CD changer port for the Kenwood models)

Just to confirm, it has both the apple port and an AUX port right?

And it actually works... or at least two people have had it working.

Great news Jay.

Jay,
probably a stupid question, but how do you select the ipod to listen to?
Push the AUX button, or the CD button multiple times?
cheers

Not a stupid question, though it is covered on many threads.

To use the Clarion port (aka the Ce-Net port, the external CD changer port) you press the CD button multiple times. This is actually the reason for the 5 playlist limitation on the EA1251 (see elsewhere), because the device plugged into the CD changer port is pretending to be a CD changer! The Mc unit already has a CD changer on board, so by pressing the CD button multiple times you toggle the sources (like on your TV: AV1, AV2 etc). What I don't know yet: On the 'link' units that have three inputs on them (3.5 plus ipod plus whatever), is each of them another fake CD changer, or is there some switching method on the link box?

AUX port only supports one external source, unless you have some other external supplementary selection method. There is either a 2-way or 3-way Y-harness available for the AUX port that allows steering wheel controls (volume only) and a tapping point for the SAT NAV to speak to you. This depends on which Mc model you have.

Edit: Update 2012-09-20
On the link units with multi-inputs (advancedice etc), only one of the inputs works at a time, I think it starts with ipod, then goes usb, then goes aux. The advancedice does auto-pause when you turn key off or select radio, but it seems to get confused if you then remove the paused source and try to switch back to it. On my car MY07 McIntosh, the HU controls do NOT work with advancedice unit, will be trying the one from nzsound next...
