Out of interest have you tried changing tracks whilst using bluetooth connection?

Yeh. You'll have to grab the Model of the Stereo. Most likely you'll be out of luck, like I was. Give the GROM unit a try, it one works perfectly for me.

Cheers

Likewise, I'd like to know too.

Also, for those that have them: if you're listening to the radio or a cd, and your phone rings, does the grom automatically take over the stereo? Or do you have to switch to aux before answering?

I assume it would be the same as the Anycar. I need to switch to the Anycar from radio to listen to calls through the speakers. Although my iPhone automatically answers with bluetooth so all i have to do it hit the function button on the steering wheel twice.

I've got the 1080C and I'm trying to connect it to my Mcintosh, MY07. The Anycar Link says Clarion on it.

What does the setting have to be? 2 on, 2 off? 3 off, 1 on? I received mine with 2 and 2 but when I try and turn my car on, my HU does nothing. 3 and 1 allows me to listen to the radio but no CD or AUX. I've tried pressing the repeat button as I read that might activate it.

Also, do you have to ground any wires like it says on the instruction manual?

Any help appreciated. :(

Oh, and if it's any help, my McIntosh is a 86201AG281 and PF-2824I

I had to try a few things with this too when connecting mine for the first time. I ended up leaving it on what ever the back of the any car unit says for clarion.
I had issues with my HU turning on and off by itself only when certain switches were selected.

Turn the ignition off and on and let it boot for a sec, it should work...

Thanks Jay. I might give it another shot tomorrow and note down exactly what does what.

It got to the point where I tried so many combinations and buttons, having an iPod plugged in or an IPhone, etc that I'm now confused on what has shown the blue power light on the device and what hasn't.

I believe that leaving it in the Clarion setting, I actually had to hold down the Reset button for the headunit to work at all on that setting. Even then, I couldn't actually access the iPhones music. It would charge the phone, but I couldn't actually get to the right 'place' to play the music. Pressing CD twice did nothing, pressing repeat did nothing, cycling through the Mode menu on the steering wheel did nothing either.

So yeah, at no stage could I actually get music playing because I couldn't access the right menu, I think.

Ok, so this is exactly what I've done;

Take out MY07 86201AG281 PF-2824I McIntosh leaving existing wiring in place.

Connect squarish plug from Anycar 1080C into back of HU. Connect AUX from back of Anycar (not the MIC) to iPhone. Connect charging port from Anycar to bottom of iPhone. iPhone is an iPhone 4.

___________
This is the original setting for the Clarion:
2 switches pointing to OFF
2 switches point to ON

NO HU response
Repeat 2x = NO
Scan 2x = NO
CD 2x = NO
Power Light = NO
Reset button on Anycar = Doesn't appear to do anything.
Power to device = YES
___________
Opposite setting:
2 switches pointing to ON
2 switches point to OFF

YES HU response
Repeat 2x = NO
Scan 2x = NO
CD 2x = NO
Power Light = YES
Reset button on Anycar = Doesn't appear to do anything.
Power to device = YES
___________
This is the setting for Subaru:
3 switches pointing to OFF
1 switches point to ON

YES HU response
Repeat 2x = NO
Scan 2x = NO
CD 2x = NO
Power Light = NO
Reset button on Anycar = Doesn't appear to do anything.
Power to device = YES
___________
Opposite:
3 switches pointing to ON
1 switches point to OFF

YES HU response
Repeat 2x = NO
Scan 2x = NO
CD 2x = NO
Power Light = NO
Reset button on Anycar = Doesn't appear to do anything.
Power to device = YES

So yeah, not sure what I'm doing wrong. :(

Looks like I'll have to go the Grom unit. Probably the BT3.

Anyone got a Grom in a Made in Japan spec (as opposed to China), PF-2824I McIntosh?

EDIT: Just read the Grom troubleshooting thread. Probably out of luck here too. Might have to go the Belkin route... :(

Exactly what mine will do. Although i don’t see the DISC button being mentioned unless thats the same as CD.
Pressing it once or twice will switch it from CD to the any car link, making the power light turn on, and allowing the music to play. The HU will also show a little icon on the top left which means its not on CD... if that makes sense.
Thats what mine does anyway..
