SegR, can you change mine to say;

Supports steering wheel controls:
Volume increase, decrease and mute only (can't cycle through tracks).

You have to have the volume up on your iPod though and the SatNav/BT/DVD doesn't come with audio controls as standard. So I'm not sure what should be written. :lol:

Also some of these media adapters have dip switches inside for configuration re: SWC :idea: :?: :D

OK, so the box says Susuki/Subaru Portable Music Intergration System
Barcode No 15006 and on the instructions Car Media Player H-206/208.
Instructions say toggle between ipod and usb by pressing the CD button. Unconfirmed as I can't actually reach the unit......
Sausage fingers will have to get wifey to pull it out.

That CD button I can reach (even with sausage fingers) it's the actual advanced Ice unit that is tucked behind the glovebox I can't reach.
Friggin FHRX and their cable tie obsession. Everyone is killing me today........

I can confirm both ea1251b and ea1251e work with the my05 gt. Has the disc/track/elapsed time displayed on headunit, track name on ipod but control only from headunit. appears to charge ipod nano 3, and apparently you can get adapters to charge newer Apple products.
Good sound quality too.

So the steering wheel controls don't work?

The AnyCar Link is *ok*. I know of 2 MY05 Legacys with the McIntosh system with them fitted. They work well as an iPod link, but to be bluntly honest, the Bluetooth is sh!t. Difficult to connect to iPhone, poor call quality etc. I wouldn't be buying one again.

@ jdm spec b: Glad you put that up, I contacted the NZ distributor for Anycarlink: they don't even stock the BT model for those exact reasons!
I'm really happy with the Belkin AirCast Auto (for calls and music) and am wondering how it would go plugged into an Anycarlink...

Do the steering wheel controls work with the Anycarlink for changing tracks/playlists?

Not surprised to be honest. I suspected as much so had a separate Parrot CK3000 installed, with its own mic and speaker. No need to rely on cheap audio gear for phone calls... and in my opinion many of these ipod cable options are kinda cheap crap, but they're 1/3 the price of a double-din fascia alone! Sound quality is still good though on the xcarlink and most others I expect.

See the bottom of the first post in this thread - the section titled 'Head Unit removal & installation'. The links to legacygt are down at the moment though; looks like they are having server issues.
