And this crew confirmed shipping to Aus: aboutsound.co.nz , (just email sales@).
The 1080D model is tempting as I can probably plug the headphone jack of the Belkin BT Aircast in.
I'm holding off, pending more good reviews, and a short shifter install maybe ...

BJ/bradr does yours work?

No idea, SegR. I won't be trying mine for at least a couple of weeks.

I can confirm, however, that there are no dip switches on the USB version of the unit.

Cheers,

I spoke to the guys from Advanceice and they said their unit will work on ANY macintosh HU. I live 5 minutes from them, but they wouldn't let me come put one in the back of my HU before I put it all back together (I had it out to fit the xcarlink, didn't work), bastards! When I click the link of the anycar audio web page, the 2nd picture (ie the one in the middle) is the same as my head unit, so I am very much hoping this will work for me, and others in the same situation.

The advance unit is $200 bucks, but they said 15% off for a group buy.

Incidentally, I spoke to harry from sydney installers, and he asked me to unplug the battery, wait 30 seconds, then plug everything back togethe to see if I could get the xcarlink unit working. I did this 3 times, didn't work, so I've sent it back for him to test it, and we'll go from there. I don't think it's fauly though because another forum member with the same car/HU said his did exactly the same thing.

Bring on the NZ gear! As soon as I get my refund, I'm going to buy one.

***edit

Just read they don't deliver outside Oz, but my best mate is from there, and goes back a forward a fair bit. I know he won't mind either a) brining back a bunch or b) sending them on through his family

done. I'll order mine as soon as harry confirms the unit he sent me isn't faulty (he said, obviously, that he would test it to make sure it was my car not his head unit). I can be out of pocket 150. I CANNOT WAIT to plug my ipod into the mac system. Sub replacement will be next.

Add the Parrot MKi9100 to the list of working.

Same method as Edy80y - Harness from the UK, plugged into the factory AUX port (used for bluetooth music only so it doesn't use the parrot's internal amp).
His thread that was a massive help for me. http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=15424#p206558

@ Fluf : be sure to read all the reviews so you know what you're in for.
From memory, none of these devices are absolutely perfect although the Parrot might be close (if you have the budget) :D :D :D

thanks Bigbad. I don't have an aux input at all. I tried the factory one from subaru, but there wasn't anywhere to plug it into the car >:(

The picture on the website shows my exact car stereo, so Ima go buy on and we'll see.

I definitely echo the advice to read the reviews and understand the issues!

Does the Parrot need aux in? Because the MY05 doesn't have it.

For me budget isn't a concern. What IS a concern is keeping the stock HU, and plugging an ipod/mp3 player into it. I've read that the xcarlink has worked on my05 HU but it didn't work on mine, so I do get that its not a science lab we're working in here.

And I really appreciate all the help/feedback/guidance/caution I get from you guys, big ups!
