Hey guys,

So im looking at buying an 07 GT Spec B once my current car sells, and I am looking at trying to work out what speaker set up I'm going to go with for the new car. Havent had a chance to look at the inside of a GT yet in person so not sure on where all the speakers are, and what size etc.

If anyone can give me any feedback on speaker placement, or photos of them etc it would be awesome. From photos I have seen it looks as though the front doors have a 3-way setup however I havent been able to see rear doors, parcel shelf etc.

I have been told that the standard setup is good, but I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to how I like my speakers sounding.

Any help will be appreciated.

Standard setup is shit once you have had an aftermarket setup.

The fronts have 4 speakers in each door. There is the 6" woofer, a 4" midrange, a 1" tweeter and a squaker. The 6" and the 1" tweeter are in the same location as in your 2.5i. The 4" midrange is half way between the tweeter and woofer and the squaker is on the small mirror cover on each door.

On top of this, you also have a centre speaker in the middle of the dash and a 8" sub on the parcel shelf that is rated at an AWESOME 35W RMS.

The rear doors have the same setup as the 2.5i's. Just a 1 coax in each door.

one coax in the rear doors ????? thats it ?? I am surprised it wasn't at least a 6 inch and a tweeter

35 RMS!!!! surprised the windshield is even intact with all that might and power

well i guess ill keep the speakers i have in my rear doors for the new car. Looks like I'll be selling my front set. I got a quote for the 4 inch mid driver, and a new cross over for my front speakers and just for those parts apparently was going to set me back at least $600

Any idea on the size of the centre speaker on the dash ?

Wouldn't have a clue. Maybe 4" MAX. Maybe even less to be honest.

When I changed my 13 speaker mcintosh stereo to aftermarket a few weeks ago I just left all the stock speakers disconnected and put in some decent 6.5" splits in the front doors..

I would not bother replacing the whole 4 speaker setup and centre speaker etc. Waste of time & money in my oppinion..

+1. A quality set of 2 way splits will sound much better than the stock 4 way setup.

35w RMS is more than enough to play loud and clear. Very loud and very clear. However, the disastrously overly EQ'd signal in the Liberty's is what holds everything back.

I would reinstall my Audison bit one to sort out the EQ issues. Chances are I will replace the headunit aswell with the screen I have in my current car. I love the clarion unit I have :) I guess soon enough I will see what ends up happening with the speakers. I'll post up the build once it gets started. The system I have in my car atm is around the $10,000 mark so I'm probably going to be putting a similar amount into the new car, thankfully most of the stuff I'll be able to just move straight over. Don't want to start from scratch again :?

Definitely move the majority of your existing gear over. Most if not all will be an easy swap depending on which model you end up with :D

Lifestyle store at north parramatta! And Rodney who works there did the tune. Personally, for service I can't rate them enough :)
