Anyways, can I install new software (Garmin/Tom Tom etc) on to the SD card that's in the nav module and use it instead?

So I have a JVC head unit that came with a navigation module.. Got to admit that I'm not a fan of the software that came with it - a cheapy inclusion..
Anyways, can I install new software (Garmin/Tom Tom etc) on to the SD card that's in the nav module and use it instead?
