Hey all,

Ok I have done a few readings and I am really temped to replace the amplifier under the passenger seat. Any suggestions will be apprciated!!

1. Ok although it says 13 speakers but how many channels does the stock actually pumping out?

2. I am not intending to replace the speakers at this point of time so do you think the stock speakers would handle an Alpine MRV-F545 (125W per channel x 4)? Not by pushing it to the maximum tho.. and so would this amp be sufficient to run the speakers only (cabling wise)?

3. What do you recommend as the best quality line level convertor?

4. Relating to question 2, are there any cross-over boxes in the car for the tweetors?

5. My objective is just to replace the stock amp, add 1x 4channel and 1x 1 channel (sub) with stock speakers and leaving the shelf sub sitting there not connected (with an oversized sub in the boot ofcourse)

Thanks all!

There are 5 channels in the DIN connection to the amp under the seat
(Front-left, Rear-left, Front-right, Rear-right, Sub)
One thing you must watch is, the McIntosh uses differential signalling, whereas most car audio equipment expects single-ended wiring (i.e. signal plus ground.)

mmm thats interesting.. so I could actually use a four channel amp to replace the stock one, adding a monoblock as well for the sub. Now need to find a good convertor....NCMX5, is that what you are talking about? LOC? thanks mate.
