Hi All,
I have just finished my box and thought I would share with anyone who is interested.
Thanks to Dan from FHRX who helped with initial design.
All set for the install on the 12th.

Richard.

Nice mate!! N-I-C-E!
Nothing but the very best from FHRX!! :D :D
My first plan was to go with the exact enclosure like yours. Needed maximum width in the boot for cargo so went with a removable box instead!!

Awsome start n dont forget to keep the pics comin!! hehhehe

Typical top notch FHRX work. As long as the measurements are correct for the internal volume of the enclosure (driver specific of course) a 10" will be more than enough in a wagon.
Car(s): Steel Silver MY10 GT Wagon + 1985 Subaru Sherpa

Mods: (GT) HKS Panel Filter. The HKS I put in the MY10 is the same filter I took out of my MY05 GT. So yes, they do fit. Custom leather heel pad to minimise carpet wear in the drivers footwell. Slotted front rotors. (Sherpa) 14'' 6 Spoke mags, Chrome Gear Shift (sick!), Alloy Pedals (sicker!), new positive and negative battery terminals, Alpine cda-9827 H/U, JBL GT 6x9's boxed and mounted (sickest!), Kicker DS650.2 component speakers mounted in the footwells in flibreglass pods, Alpine MRP-F200 4 channel amp (4x40wRMS), Rebadged with hektik chrome eBay badges, STi stickers for more powaaaa, "leather" handbrake boot, recarpetted with grey/black car carpet from Bunnings, sick Clarke Rubber boot mat, polished and waxed.

There is quite a large range for the SC10 to work in 13-25L. I started out not removing the 8" but after some approximate calculations it only came out at 15L which would have worked but I wanted bigger. Dan was the guy who told me to take out the 8" mounting plate. I thought it was part of the chassis but it was just held in by 5 screws. It's a bit of a PITA to get all the trim off but made a heap of difference in size and gives the box some positive locking options.

Here are the Sub specs:
http://www.morelhifi.com/support/pdf/mo ... Series.pdf
These speakers are great and I would recommend them to anyone. I have the same sub in my MX5 but this one is the 2 ohm version. HDP5 @ 2 ohms puts out 550 watts, should be fine but we will know soon. I'm running a Audison Lrx5.1k In the Mazda so the 4 ohm is fine.

All up the box took me about 25 hours over about a week. The downside is there is friggin dust all over the place from sanding the bog and the glass. It was however, really satisfying to finish and a fair bit of fun in the making.

Sorry to hijack this thread but i just want to say let others BE AWARE.... its really worth paying a little extra for Marty n the boys to do the install. Ive told a really good mate of mine to get his install done at FHRX... yes u pay a little extra but its well worth it. The so called "PRO installer" that he took it to, completed EVERYTHING in 6hrs!!! Got there and they told him they forgot to put the deadener for the doors??? like WTF? how could u forget the very basic? n plus 6hrs wont give enough time for all the adhesives set hard... imagine your sub box cracks open!!!!

This is a really good option also and uses a really good sub as well.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I have sub enclosures very similar to this and I want to get new subs but don't know my internal volume. How did you come up with the internal volume?

one way is to pour bean bag beans into the box and measure them with a 1 liter jug.. it is usually pretty accurate.
