Hi,
I currently own a my06 3.0R-B but looking for the my07-my09 stock mcintosh head unit.
do you guys know where i could purchase 1 from?
and do they fit on my model?

Basically because I would like an AUX imput and mine doesn't always want to play CD's which makes me want to pull it out and chuck it.

For some reason once the car warms up it plays them ok but if its cold it seems to play up and wont play at all sometimes! I have herd it is common in this head Unit.

I have searched all over the net for a new one but cant seem to figure out where to get one from.

Cheers

Tongue-in-cheek.................you could buy my MY07/MY08 (I'm not entirely sure which one it is!) 3.0R Spec B Auto sedan - it comes with a Mcintosh head-unit!!

Go for aftermarket... Much better quality but also harder on the pocket

The reason it plays cd's properly once the car is warmed up is probably condensation on the lens in the head unit. Go aftermarket, it's a bit more expensive but you will get a lot more features, better sound quality and besides, the OEM stereos sound terrible anyway.

I have a head-unit from the MY06 Liberty GT-B - see my other posts in Audio. May or may not be what you are after...

ok so i now have the my08 mcintosh head unit and put it in..

There is only one problem and thats I cant get the steering wheel contrals to work with it. there is the Aux imput with this one that plugs into the back on the old unit in the same place there was a green wire I have left this green wire unplugged im not sure if this could have anything to do with it or not. any suggestions.

Hi - check out my post below for the Steering control wiring. Its orange/white and purple/white. I think the green is +12v ACC.

Not too sure where they plug into the McIntosh headunit - likely the same as my one.

I think what I may need is the wiring digrame from the back of each cd player to see whats different as far as I can see its only the extra green wire that isnt on there due to having the aux connector in the back.

Look here.

If I understand you correctly, If it is the green wire from the Aux (part of 5 wires terminating an a square white plug) it forms the Aux on/off circuit. Its not from the steering control. If its the green wire from the Large rectangular connector its 12v ACC +.

Hope that helps

My wiring is slightly differnt that yours maybe because it was an older head unit and earlier model everything work but the steering wheel controls.. I wish there was an easy way on the net to look up both wiring diagrams so I could see whats where and re do it agh driving me insane this green wire is on a plug by itsself that plug would go into my old HU but not the newer one and then the newer one has the AUX connector in the same place but different plug everything works fine keeps its memory and aux imput work but just not bloody steering wheel controls.. but yeah the main white connector is different to yours so somehow they have wired the old one differentaly and I just need to compare them both to each other lol

The old model is a PF-25511 and the new one is a PF-2824I with the old one I can work out what wires would be steering wheel controld because I can just get some new pins and add them onto the old plug
