so my head unit started to cut in and out...depending if i was changing gears, going up/down hills or stopping
so first thought was that its a loose wire
i took it out and checked all the wiring and made them tighter.
it still did the same thing.
so i took it out a 2nd time and tested the wiring, they all work as they should
but not the head unit doesnt work at all, neither does any other head units
i have checked all the fuses in the car and they are all fine
any ideas?

Are you sure all the fuses are intact? Try swapping another fuse over, or use a multimeter to verify there's power to the headunit?

i used a multi meter and all the volts are going to the connectors proply
the head unit works in other cars so it isnt the head unit
its a kenwood
would swapping the fuses be worth it if the power is making it through still???

I would try changing the fuses, it is a bit strange that the headunit works in other cars but not in yours. So it would suggest it is something specific to the wiring in your car.
Have you checked that your earth is making a good connection to the chassis???
In situations like this, it is best to provide as much info as possible mate. I.e. model numbers, how long the head unit has been in the car etc etc.
Is it the stock kenwood unit or aftermarket... If it is the stock unit, get rid of it and put something better in.

Anywhere as long as it is making good contact with the chassis... That means sanding the paint back to metal, not just scratching it up a bit. Use a round lug and a screw when securing it down as well.
The bolts that secure the seats down are good places for the earths for amps located under seats. Are you running any amps????
When you said
so first thought was that its a loose wire i took it out and checked all the wiring and made them tighter.
what does that actually mean??? Have you got the wires from the factory loom just twisted to the head unit loom???? If you have, then do it properly. Solder and heat shrink.
