Just attempted the install this morning.

Before I reassemble and put a seemingly useless cable on ebay, can anyone explain what's going on?

MY07 GTB
Factory Mackintosh
Factory SatNav.

Disconnected battery

Plugged in CeNet adapter for Ipod (purchased cable from Autobarn, via clarion Aus)
Reconnect battery
did test startup, had flashing subaru signal and nothing more. No response from any buttons on satnav or stereo.

Disconnect battery
Unplug cable
Reconnect, startup, cd. rad works, satnav gets signal and sets time.

If it makes a difference it is not an EA1251, it is simply the cable with the v small modulator in the middle. Looks like the one pictured here It has a power led signal and it got bupkis.

Ideas? Is that cable simply not compatible with the satnav ones?

So what's the consensus, is it the fact that I have the factory satnav, or is it possible I got a dodgy cable via Clarion and I should be thanking my luck stars my stereo still works?

Sounds exactly like what mine did when i got my first dodgy cable. It just kept flashing the subaru logo on the GPS and saying Subaru on the head unit. When i got my second cable from a better retailer it was fine and didnt do it (although did come with other problems). Id suggest its the box rather than the cable as iv reused the cable off my dodgy cord on my new box and its fine. Id take it back to autobarn man!

And yes be thankfull you still have a headunit and GPS as someone did blow up their headunit with a dodgy cable!
