clarion ea1251 still available?

Postby HoFF » Wed Oct 13, 2010 7:51 pm

hey guys
ive been reading the other threads about the aux alternatives for the macintosh units but im a little confused.
first thing im picking up my 2005 my06 3.0rb wagon on friday.
from what i can gather this is the right thing for my model yes?
now in one of the threads it mentioned that the clarion ea1251 units were discontinued how ever i have found these.
http://www.clarionworld.co.uk/car-audio.aspx/ea1251-ipod-adaptor
and
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CLARION-EA1251-EA1251B-INTERFACE-MODULE-iPOD-iPHONE-/270648247578?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f03e4851a

are these the right ones? if so which one to purchase?

if one of these is connected to the hu will that mean i have to disconnect the stacker to be able to use it?

thanks guys

The one on the Ebay link looks like the fake one.
I had the same one from your UK link and it worked perfectly but is virtually impossible to find now, so if they still have stock go for it.

aw ok then cool.

so did you have to disconnect the stacker to plug this in? or do i need to get the other adaptor on the uk site to keep both connected? or will that not work

just plugs straight into the back of your head unit. CD stacker will still be usable

Nope,I have been bombarded by Uni and my jobs :? And it's not something i want to install in a rush. Made that mistake to many times with my first car. Will let everyone know how it goes, especially with running the cable up to the centre console box.

Waiting for my iPod touch to arrive too. Got that sucker cheap, hopefully the new ones can be charged with the uni.

decided to install it this arvo after work and im amazed at how quick and easy it was. in and out 20min first time pulling this car apart.
the unit works pretty well however im dissapointed that it dosent support charging my ipod touch, it will play the music but wont charge but my old ipod nano does everything.

so i guess the old ipod stays in the car

Thankfully this happened to me, so I know how to fix it :P

WHAMO!!!!!!!!!

My pioneer deck in my R34 wouldn't charge my iphone or ipod nano. So I bought this, spliced the actual wires into the car and it worked perfectly!

So yeah :)
