Yes I confoirm the mediafire Sub V17 C2 is more up to date than the Mitsubishi one I found a few weeks back. well worth the effort the newer roads near me now show up (Mitsubishi did not).

Good work.

Finally got a reply from sensis. Gives some good backgound on how it all works.

Thank you for contacting Sensis.

Unfortunately the Northern Expressway is not included in the Version17 map update, but it will be in the next Version 18.

The reason why the in-car navigation units do not always contain the most current map updates is because this is due to the car production timelines.

Subaru uses the Denso Japan navigation system and the Whereis Maps team provides the new release of the map database to Denso in December each year. It then reaches the Subaru Australia consumer around 12 to 14 months later.

This gap between supplying the latest map update and consumers having access to it is due to vehicle production timelines, map conversion and testing as the vehicle manufacturers controls the production timelines, prices, Navigation functionality.

Yep worked on my 07 GT-B. Initially it said insert map disc but once it booted up, it never says that again.

Just copy all the files into a folder on your desktop (if not done so already).

Download an unzip program such as Ultimate Zip or Winzip, then install it.

Double click on the first file, it should load up the unzip program and within should display the "iso file"

extract this to your desktop.

Download a DVD burning program (I prefer IMG Burn)

Burn ISO that is now on your desktop to a blank DVD using the burning program and a low speed (1x I would suggest).

Put disc into navigation system and you are done :D

i tried zipping it with winzip and it made no differnce, the files just went in to a zip folder and extracting them just opens the same as when i started.

UNzip, not zip, otherwise youre adding them to an archive container.

Code: Select all
Internet
   | Download files from link
   \/
Multiple files on your computer

   | Stick them in the same directory and unzip
   \/
One Iso file
   | Using isoburner, burn to a blank dvd at 1x or 4x speed
   \/
Sparkling map disc
   | Put in the map dvd in your car
   \/
Go to places which didnt previously exist

Dude, you should have taken your own advice and bought it when it was on sale through Whereis. Half of your whole 9 posts on this forum have been either whinging about how expensive the sat nav update is, or asking for people who go out and spend their hard earned to put a torrent up of it. There is a download available for a map update, either spend the time like I did and download it, or, go a buy it.

Thanks for the download. Works in MY11 GT. Checked a few roads that didnt exist in the V16, they now appear in the new one although street names aren't there for these particular roads.

Funny thing is I ordered the V17 C2 from Where Is at the start of the month whilst on special at $195, still havent got the disc and got another email today (I have had two previous delay emails) saying the deliveries will be further delayed till the first week of January 2012.

Think I might cancel my order tomorrow.

LoL ... Ditto .... For all the BS and time complaining and downloading .. now is probably the best opportunity at $195 to buy the original from whereis

Unless your time is worth squat

I've got the copy but will be buying the original
