Have had a good look and think I know where I need to connect the wires, just need to get some time to have a go.

Thanks again for the info, much appreciated!

Massive thanks to sjm69, got mine working on the weekend. For those who have the McIntosh stereo and want to know what needs to be done, grab the wiring diagram (attached), and once you've installed the controls on the wheel you just need to run 2 wires from pins 3 and 9 on the back of the stereo to pins 3 and 9 on connector B68.

B68 is sitting in the steering column, just behind the ignition switch. There is a yellow connector right next to it for the airbag, B68 is the white connector just behind it. Just tap into those 2 pins (orange white and violet white) and away you go!

Just make sure you actually do tap into those wires, the connectors i used at first didn't work - ended off cutting the wires and soldering them back together just to be safe. Also suggest you grab the other wiring diagrams available on the forum, makes life much easier.

Thanks again to Steve and the forum, have found a heap of mods I'll be doing in the near future.
