Just bought a MY05 Liberty 3.0R and looking to use my iPod 5th gen and/or iPhone 3gs with the McIntosh hu. After reading this forum and others on the subject I've narrowed it down to using either of the following:
Axxess AIP-CL-ID
http://www.audio-discounters.com/aip-cl-id.html
OR
CLARION CCA-iPOD EA1251
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CLARION-CCA-iPOD-EA1251-3-5MM-MP3-iPOD-INTERFACE-CeNET_W0QQitemZ280454040886QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Audio_In_Dash_Receivers?hash=item414c5d0d36

Has anyone purchased the Axxess AIP-CL-ID from audio-discounters? Don't wanna get ripped by them.

Would consider the CLARION CCA-iPOD EA1251 as a better option for me as I could essentially use any mp3 player/phone etc with 3.5 jack and for my ipod and iphone i would just get a holder and a seperate charger. Thoughts?

I installed an Axxess AIP-CL-ID into my 2004 GT and it works really well. It charges too. It has two connectors, an iPod connector and a 3.5mm stereo plug and having both means you can use it with anything (not just an iPod).

...and you get the right one, I'm still waiting for a reply from the Sepos so I can exchange the incorrect unit they sent me :angry2:

Hey there,

I recently bought the exact same car and will be buying the same item you are... fingers crossed it's easy enough to install! (and it arrives... and doesn't blow up)

A question to all - the ebay listing mentions that the extra input requires an option to be turned on in the main menu... does this apply to the McIntosh?

I think what you are referring to is when you double press the CD button, this gets the Mac deck to switch to the CD charger designated input where the IPOD controller resides

It is probably referring to the Disc button which needs to be pressed twice to put the McIntosh into aux mode.

Actually, the shipping was decent, I think it was like 2 weeks

From the States from an e-bay seller, that's not too bad

So it looks like there is only one seller on ebay selling them now. I just purchased mine, and it was the only listing on ebay for an EA1251. I also purchased the adapter so it will charge my iphone so ill let everyone know if it works or not haha.

Bit of an update, just got an e-mail from the e-bay seller (IPODMP34Capa) and they said the following:

We have received your returned item. We are sorry that this did not work
out for you. When we received your item we were looking at it and it is a
defective part, actually all of the parts for this auction is defective.
We do not know when we will get this issue resolved we are in the process
of taking the auction down at this time. We have issued you a full refund
for this item, (goes onto quote a refund ID #)

Not sure if they mean it will barbeque your deck faulty or just they don't have the 3.5mm jack input faulty.

Aside from being a bit dissapointed and $20 in postage to the states poorer, it is probably better that the deck didn't die and I didn't lose a few hours pulling the deck out (probably doesn't take that long but I do tend to drink when tinkering in a shed, suffer alcohol amnesia, fiddle with other non-related things, talk to the dog etc.)

I might sit back and wait and see if they sort things out (i.e. re-post the items for sale)
