No CD's do not need to be removed. Maybe try a firmware update? :(

How does it know if you want to play a CD or use the GROM? i.e how does one place it in GROM mode?

pushing the CD button on the HU or mode on the SWC should switch between CD/Grom modes.

So installed the latest version of AALinq today, whenever I connect it to my USB-2P it brings up a message of "GROM unit is not running the latest firmware". Yet when I do a check it says I'm on version 11, which is the latest according to the GROM website.

Also I tested the USB streaming from other apps. Appears to work fine after following these instructions: http://www.indashpc.org/vbullettin/viewtopic.php?p=5929

Just did a firmware update on the ipd3 grom to see if the tuning on the HU and SWC would work .......... Fail

I access my grom by just toggling thru sources by using the 'mode' key on the steering wheel. I had to update my firmware first though.

give that a try. got mine working. still no steering wheel controls though. :(

Maybe you guys should try one of the older firmwares? I bought mine before the group buy so maybe I have an earlier version on mine. I don't know what else to try.

Don

Both your grom and the grom I have have the same serial number so they were manufactures at the same time therefore I'm guessing the firmware would/ should be the same !!???!?,

I tried it last night anyway and it didn't work. I switched back to version 11 of the non text version and now the Bluetooth streaming is all distorted. not winning. :(
