Thanks mate, what about the multiplier on the HDP 4, also the remote volume control (on/off?), the lo pass filter (whats it meant to be at?) and the phase dial?

So the remote wire from the headunit will be fine running with the RCA's

The low pass filter should be set at the same point as the crossovers on the HDP4. And I forgot to mention on the HDP4 the pass mode should be set to HI.
The low pass filter cuts off frequencies above the set frequency. For example if it is set at 80Hz, it will cut out all frequencies above that as to not damage the sub (a sub will not play 20kHz well at all).

The high pass filter acts the same as the low pass however it cuts off frequencies below the set frequency. For example, a tweeter will not like playing low frequencies as it was designed for high frequencies.

So essentially you want them set at the same point so that you do not lose music. The sub will handle freq's up to 80Hz and from 80Hz onwards your splits will take over.

In regard to the multiplier, I'm not actually sure if its for the level adjustment or the crossover. Will need more info from the manual but just read up on it. If its for the crossover, then leave it at x1 and if its for the Level then start with it at x1 and adjust the level. If not enough bring the level back down to 1 and change to x10 and then adjust the level accordingly.

Remote volume control. Did the HDP1 come with a small box that can control the sub level remotely? If no, then set this to off. If it did and you are planning on connecting it to the amp, then set this to 1. If you have no idea what im talking about, leave it on off.

The phase dial leave on 0. Unless you are planning on reverse mounting your sub (ie the cone is coming out of the box rather than being inside the box) then set this to 180. This knob has the same effect as inverting the positive and negative connections on the sub. However it can also be used for time alignment however I wouldnt worry in your case.

Running the remote wire with the RCA's should be fine as its low current. Since its low current, it wont create a significant enough magnetic field around it to induce noise into your RCA's.

In my Gen 3 I ran the power cable for the amp under the seat through a grommet which is above and to the right of where the steering comes through the firewall, if you are looking from inside the car it is about 6-8 inches above the pedals. It is fairly easy to find and doesn't have anything running through it from the factory. If you have a manual it is sort of covered by the clutch.

For the amp under the passenger's seat I ran the power cable over the guard and through a grommet which is under the passengers footwell. In order to get to it you need to pull back the carpet and remove the metal piece covering the ECU, it would probably be easier to just run both through the grommet on the drivers side.
