Welcome to the forums. I've got a PF-25511 as well. So you're able to change GROM Audio sources ok? And can you control the ipod/iphone via the headunit?

I had issues with my GROM USB02 unit where I couldn't change sources because the headunit controls wouldn't register with the GROM unit.

Ok the kit can be built on whatever your needs are.....as long as you dont exceed 2 inputs (max unit has)
The kit i wanted was as follows...

Input 1 = BlueTooth & Mic
Input 2 = BACKUP - 3.5mm Male plug for any sort of audio input (means more choice in case friends bring weird mp3 players or something)

Therefore...
Phone auto connects on car start & auto pauses music on car off
However, you must manual start playing of music and you must manual skip tracks (i think this is because the head unit cant control commands over bluetooth) (however maybe if i had purchased the iphone specific cable this might not be an issue)
Phone auto mutes sound on calls.
Mapping software talks directions thru speakers.
Microphone is very good and volume is clear and good.

3.5mm Cable has no control wires. Therefore operates as manual track change only.

So to answer your question....
With the setup i purchased i cannot change tracks via head unit.
HOWEVER
This is because i purchased a non specific iphone/ipod setup as iphones/ipods are almost all replaced with samsungs in my family :)

Something weird to add,
I just took 2 phones into the car.
Let one auto connect to car as normal via bluetooth.
Turned bluetooth off on the 2nd phone and manually plugged it into 3.5mm male plug.
Played music on BOTH phones.
BOTH phones play at the same time without distortion.

So whilest the system works perfectly. It has 1 small issue. It wont stay on 1 input at a time. It allows both to be active. :D
Then again how oftern are you going to play music on both sources at the same time :)

Yeh I know we cant control via bluetooth and aux. Was hoping you had an iphone cable with it.
How do you change GROM sources with this one? does it auto change?
With my USB02 unit I had to change to CDC mode and press "next track" to change sources before the unit says "USB". Except I couldn't do this as the GROM unit wouldn't recognize the headunit control inputs.

No sorry no iphone cable :(
At this stage it looks like its automatic. or should i say both are live.
Over the next few days I will play with it some more and see if there is a way to change inputs (just read about changing modes in the grom box. maybe that will give me the answer you require)
And get back to you

Cool. Thanks Man :)

I'm probably going to test an anycarlink, FSL21 or Leptronix unit next to see how they go.

Does the MY07 have the same HU as the MY08. PF-28241 is the model in mine.

Getting pretty confused with this stuff :D

Wondering which would be best to use with a 2006 MY07 GT McIntosh system.
It currently has the stock AUX input and I'm planning on putting a Nexus 7 in the top console so was going to run that to the AUX IN.

However i'd like to get Bluetooth Handsfree as well if possible?
Guessing there's no chance of controlling the Nexus 7 with steering wheel controls either?

I have the Axxess AIP-CL-ID in my MY06 McIntosh with Galaxy Tab2.
The 3.5mm audio is noisy when the unit is charging via the USB port
I blame the Axxess unit for inducing the noise/ ground loop.

you may also notice that the audio is at a very low volume as some tab's have the heaphone out volume configured to be much lower (it's a health requirement in Aus)
So the tab needs to be rooted and the audio gain file being manipulated. unsure if you can do that on the Nexus7.

I'm also looking for a new 3.5mm Stereo solution
Possibly the anycarlink. I've emailed them asking if they can do a Samsung Dock connector version for audio and charging out.
I sent them all the dock schematics and info that I could find to assist the development of that.

Cheers, thanks for that. Have heard that too so i'm going to be using a USB DAC and this ROM

http://rootzwiki.com/topic/37755-timurs-kernel-usb-rom/

Should eliminate both ground loop noise and lower output.

The Bluetooth Handsfree part is the main thing i'm struggling with

MY05 macintosh- I just switched from the anycar link 1080A (Aux and iPod) to the 1080 Bluetooth/AUX/USB with great results.

Love being able to stream music from my iphone to the HU with the sound quality being almost identical to USB quality (more bass via bluetooth but some full on songs distort a bit up loud). I now have full functionality from the steering wheel, and the iPod/phone. it switches to AUX automatically once plugged in too.

I think it's been available for a while, I just thought the normal iPod would suit me better back 2 years ago.
It's the anycar link 1080B or C- USB or iPod is the difference.

"Not compatible with MY08"

Sorry Benny haha

To anyone with a MY07 and earlier, i'd go with this if you want bluetooth connectivity.
It has a Mic input so my hands free works flawlessly, although theres no steering wheel controls to answer phone calls so you have to do it on the phone itself.
I have an iphone, but when connected to bluetooth (auto on HU start) the iphone automatically uses bluetooth for calls. Once the call has ended, the music fades back in.
Navigation (Siri) also dims the music, tells you which direction to go in then the music fades back up.

It works awesome. I should've converted to bluetooth earlier.

I can answer calls by pressing the 'track up' button on the steering wheel, and hang up calls by pressing the 'track down' button after.
Cheers
