kit came today, bastard. Finally home from work/kids asleep/wife suitibly dosed with alcohol (I'll explain later...maybe), and will now commence with install. Bloody hell that handbrake boot took some effort. Taking piccies.

Forgot to mention that Harry from sydney installers said he will happily refund anyone the purchase price less postage if they install it and it doesn't work (12 bucks to you and 12 back)

farker, didn't work :( Head unit just shows up "subaru" flashing on and off when I plug it in. Take it out and it all works fine again. REALLY annoying thing is that the 6 stacker has packed it in, so for the time being I am back to the farkin radio OMG!!

Thats bad news Fluf... I just lost a whole heap of confidence when I read that.
Oh well good news about Sydney installers though. Post up some pics when you get a chance? I wonder why it flashed "Subaru" just in case you forget what car your sitting in after installing the cable?

I think the unit was rebooting. When I first start the car it shows "subaru" in the same way, for a second or two, and then it dissapears, and then the stereo starts working.

I think its showing subaru because it's booting, then rebooting, every second or two.

Hmm...like cvas, my confidence level fell a few notches. Still, I'm game to give it a go. I think we're keeping a list of model numbers and the like to see if we can find a pattern. The only problem with this is that, and I'm guessing here, we have to pull the HU out before we know what the model number is anyway.

Still, we'll press on.

I'll be doing mine in a few weekends' time.

cheers,

bj

Many people have used the various adapters with MY04-MY06 vehicles so you should be OK. MY07+ not so much.

Well I can confirm it does not work in my MY07 GT-B. the whole HU just turns off when the cable is plugged in and goes back on when cable is unplugged
