http://www.parrot.com/au/products/asteroid-range/parrot-asteroid-tablet

My work has a 95MB/s internet connection and that website took 30 seconds to load!!!! WTF?!

9. Depends on whether the BT pushes audio out to a headphone (3.5mm) jack and if you have an AUX input already. Otherwise there's no way of getting sound to the car speakers - all sound would be broadcast from the internal speaker, which is pointless - phone loudspeaker would do the same.

Yeah.....

Sorry to hijack the thread....

Ill prob go down the Parrot Asteroid Tablet, as its the easiest way to get Nav and Bluetooth and aux input intergrated into a stock stereo.....

As for the reverse camera, ill prob just get one of those ones that replace the rear view mirror.

Since i can install myself, total cost will be about 500 for the parrot, 35 for the ISO adapter, 253 for the 7" cubby and 75 for a reverse camera thingy

total.... $860 for fully intergraed nav and bluetooth, BUT, still removable and usable in any other car.

Providing I keep all the old parts (satnav and fascia), how hard is it to return the car to stock in the event of selling? I'm going to assume nothing gets butchered when you install a Nexus where the satnav is and leave the McIntosh unit in place.

My McIntosh head unit is suffering from focus error so instead of buying a replacement (for $350) I am thinking of getting an aux adapter and replacing my satnav with a Nexus.

Everything can be returned to stock easily.. I'm pretty sure the standard looms between your satnav & McIntosh just unplug from the back. Tuck them away neatly and done!

Spent the last few days revamping and cleaning up my install. Muzzrx sent me his spare bezel which neatly hides the silver sides and gaps and looks super neat. I also extended my power to the glovebox so I can run the Nexus on mains power for updates, fiddling etc.

Thanks for the android/tasker links lads but honestly.... It's shitting me. Who can write these tasks for me? The old UI for Tasker was so much easier and after the update I have no idea.

Screen brightness set to 50 between 17:00 - 6:59
Screen brightness set to max between 7:00 - 16:59
Music playback pauses when tablet goes to sleep
Music playback resumes 5 seconds after tablet wakes

Thanks fellas.

Cant wait to see it man !

I've been getting the sH%#s with mine at the mo...

I cant quite get the tablet setup perfect.

CM10.1 with Timurs Kernel in FI Mode

- Doesn't always wake from sleep reliably.
- Doesn't Sleep reliably. (it might be tethering that screws it)
- After waking from deep sleep the USB DAC fails to power up, requiring a reboot of the tab to work. This is well documented and there a re a few solutions out there, but nothing concrete.

- Now the tablet wont mount to PC Even after restoring to stock... FML... More experimenting..... I'm kinda watching the KitKat Devs on XDA Devs, because OTG, and USB Audio is built in by google. This means modders only have to configure the deep sleep section of it. Watching that space, as i'm finding it very temperamental. I'm a Guru too... (toot toot)

Sean do you have 3G on your nexus?
Because there's a good tasker screen brightness automator that uses sunrise and sunset times via an online site ... :)

No unfortunately it's wifi only. I occasionally tether through my iPhone but it's so shit because I manually have to do it even though I leave hotspot on my phone on..

I've also tried the auto brightness option too but it's safe to say that that doesn't work either!

Easy enough to make duplicate seasonal Tasks then. :)

I've already determined that I'm shithouse at Tasker, so any guidance would be appreciated.

Apparently..

I made the tasks but the variable thing has me stumped. So then I did it a different way and it wasn't working.

If you have timur's usb-rom loaded the music playback pause/resume should be automated. It will remember if the music was paused or playing prior to going to sleep and when it wakes it restores it to the same state prior to sleep.

Also with tethering with the iPhone, it really doesn't work well because the iPhone will only broadcast that it is available for tethering for 90 seconds from the time you turn it on. So leaving it enabled all the time is pointless, because in order for the tablet to see that the iPhone is available again you have to go in and toggle it on and off again. I think they did this to conserve battery.

Thanks Sonti.. I do have Timur's USB ROM. When it wakes up Poweramp opens again but playback doesn't begin, I get an error on the screen saying that the folder can not be found (all files stored on external HDD).

Is there settings in the USB host section that will fix it?
