Can anyone provide some instructions for removing the stereo (or installing the cable) for an MY05 Legacy sedan (manual)?

Well I got a car audio shop to install it today but no dice. The power light on the AIP-CL-ID doesn't even come on. When the unit is plugged into the headunit, the headunit intermittently turns on/off (and pressing "DISC" twice doesn't do anything).

So I guess I'll have to chase this up with the Ebay seller. =( Anyone else had this problem (power light not coming on?)

Well, finally got round to installing the replacement which arrived in the mail. This one works in my car, but only the AUX - the iPOD interface doesn't work with my 3G iPhone at all (it comes up with a message on the screen saying it can't charge, but the music doesn't stop coming out the iPhone and nothing comes from the stereo). Oh well, AUX is good enough for me anyway.

Sound quality is very good, level is a bit lower than CD. Overall, I'm happy.

Has anyone looked into whether it's possible to change a resistor on the input path to the CD changer on the McIntosh to increase the input sensitivity?

I'm thinking of getting my local car audio electronics shop to investigate..

Installed mine over the weekend and discovered a few things.

- The power light didn't come on until i switched to AUX on the Macintosh
- At first it said "This device does not support iPhone....blah blah blah"
- It also didn't charge
- After fiddling around with the wiring and the plug into the iphone the power light came on, the charge symbol also came on the iphone and music started playing
- Once driving the music cut out and a warning popped up saying something along the lines of "due to interference the phone had to search for a broadcasting tower". This meant that every time my phone searched for a tower the music stopped. When your driving this can happen every 1-2minutes sometimes. AGGHH!!!

Does anyone else have this problem? I'm using an iPhone 3GS with the AIP-CL-ID cable from Ebay.

If you're having trouble charging your ipod/iphone. Use that.

I had a Pioneer deck that would play music (wouldn't charge though). So basically installed that, bam all works fine.

I'm new here, and I don't have a Liberty (yet) but I'm very keen to get one pretty soon, they look like awesome cars. Would be looking at a ~MY07 3.0R-B.
One thing I want/need, is to have iPod audio coming from an iPod Nano that would likely live in the glove box, to have song info and be able to control it from the head unit.
I don't know, but I'm thinking I probably don't need to go replacing all of the factory audio as it might be too much hassle *just* to get iPod audio.

I saw this posted a couple of pages back: https://www.subarugenuineparts.com/prod ... ts_id=1479
Is this something anyone's used? Does this work in the australian Liberty's ?

Thanks in advance, and thanks for this forum. Lots of useful info here!!

well this seems like what everyone is after ? has anyone used this, or tried it on the Aus liberty's ?

Guttered!

Can you let me know how you get on with this? Would like a similar answer for my car!? :)

People back at home in NZ are selling these:

Haven't been able to find a different supplier when searching "Any-car link"??

I bite the bullet and ordered one of these...

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio ... CL-ID.aspx

I don't have a ipod/iphone so I needed the 3.5mm aux...

But that one in your link looks good, a little pricy maybe, but cheaper then a whole new unit!!!!

That looks a shite load cheaper- does it work? I couldn't care for the iPhone/pod control just need the audio really. Does that adapter fit the McIntosh in the MY05 Liberty Sedan? (without tape, just 5 CD stacker)

Exactly what I thought, for that price I would want some *sucky sucky* aswell!!

Hi guys,

I have an 04 model Liberty.
Wanting to keep the stock dash etc i've looked at a few options.

I just came back from getting Ryda.com to hard-wire an Iphone cable in to the aerial itself.
This is charging the phone perfectly, controlled totally by the Iphone controls and has absolutely no static as it is wired in to a dedicated FM station.

This cost me $300 so a little pricey but worth the money after mucking around with all these other cheaper options that didn't work for me.

Some food for thought

Cheers

Mine is working fine now. Charges and plays perfectly. Mine is the same as the eBay listed one above, however without the 3.5 jack.
I've got a Mcintosh in a 2.0 GT MY04.
