Firstly need to write up an attendance list, then work out suitable dates (in conjunction with a suitable location)

Jimbo - as much as I want to do this, I'm really not sure if the ol' back to handle it after hearing a few horror stories about what is needed to be done.

Count me out, even though I started this thread!!

Horror stories....that doesn't sound too promising.

Cabin noise doesn't bother me anyway, I was just interested in getting it done in case I ever really want to do it in the future and nobody else was interested.

Well the stuff that we use (Dynamat Extreme) is a weight loading sheet, i.e. it adds mass to lower resonance from big speakers etc, but it does nothing as a sound barrier. If you are concerned about road noise you should install the stuff which is almost like fibreglass matting.

It is outside noise I'd be trying to surpress.

I assume it would be installed in the same manner as the other stuff? Just a different product but not a different way of installing? From here how to we organise a venue?

Yeah pretty much, although the dynaliner is less pliable for tight contours etc.

Someone needs to find access to a warehouse or underground carpark whereby there is good lighting and we could all be left alone for most of the day... A non-filthy ground would help a lot as well.

Last time BennyGSR was able to arrange us to use carpark at his work. But his car is now SD'ed so I'm not sure if he could go to the trouble of organising the venue again for us.

Anyone else?

Jim with the dynamat extreme will it have any noticeable effect on the Macintosh system in the 07 or would I need some aftermarket speakers for it to be worth doing.

Sound deadening (and moreso sealing off of all the service access holes in the door skin), makes a big difference for any speakers, even crappy non-Macintosh ones).

Just because it's not worth putting this anywhere else.

Steve I tried to purchase some 3M double sided tape off ebay as I have not been able to find any at shops.
It came in the mail today and it's the wrong stuff :angry2:

Sigh, now to try another ebay listing.

It is certainly a process worth going through, makes a massive difference. Here are some pics that were taken when i had my car done by fhrx studios here in sydney. I would recommend them to anyone, their service is fantastic, Marty will answer any questions you have, and their installs speak for themselves.
