I'm also very interested in this and have just sent an email to the sales dept at Onlinecarstereo.com to ask about available stock and shipping to Australia. I also mentioned we may be interested in ordering 5+ units in case that gets their attention. Will let you know if I get any response :) Hope I'm not treading on Jay's or anyone elses toes here  Just keen to get something organised as we have a couple of long trips coming up soon!

I'm hoping this cable is compatible for my MY08 Liberty 3.0R-B with McIntosh + separate GPS unit. Haven't been able to confirm compatibility with my specific model in all the threads, but assume it's the same as the earlier (MY06 and older) McIntosh units...

I strongly suspect it is not. It seems the Mcintosh model may have changed in 07 and is probably not compatible. See thread here -

Hmm, that's a worry :? But I can't see anywhere in that thread where it says the Axxess cable is incompatible with the MY08 McIntosh?

Does anyone have any idea why it would be $188 in postage for 7 pieces of wire?
seems ridiculous

That's crazy! Can't understand why it's so difficult to get these over here...

I only got an automated response to my email from Onlinecarstereo.com too. It basically said read the terms and conditions and they might get back to me but they get a lot of enquiries. Not sure if I'll hear more or not :?

$188/7(people) = $26p/p (give or take)
my guess is that they dont allow combined shipping...?

I'm in too only if it is compatible with 07 GT Macintosh unit.
Could anyone confirm it for me.
Thanks

Happy to be told I'm wrong, but given the Axxess, xcarlink, anycarlink and FSL-21 modules/adaptors all seem to be compatible with the same models of Mcintosh unit (that shipped with MY04-MY06 Liberties) and there have been multiple instances of vaious modules NOT being compatible with the MY07 and MY08 head units (one of which is documented in the above linked thread, the rest aren't, but read the threads which are linked to in the first post of that thread and you may find evidence) I would be hesitant to buy any of these units for an MY07+.

This might be a case where it's worthwhile to use a service like http://www.priceusa.com.au/ that buys the items for you from a US address and then forwards the package to Oz ...
I've looked into that in the past and it hasn't saved much but this case may make more economic sense ...

Probably a brain-dead shopping cart formula. They're charging about $48 shipping for the 1st one, and ~$23 for each additional.

How much does each one of these weigh? I couldn't find a picture of a whole cable.

I might be willing to help out. They'll ship orders over $99 to a US address via UPS ground for free. That would take 4 days to me. They'll charge $12 to ship one via UPS ground (which is a bit high, actually).

I could ship it back out via EMS (flat rate envelope with $300 insurance, 5 business days to Sydney) for about $40. I could even send via Priority Mail or regular First Class, but there's no option to add insurance to the latter, and when you add it to Priority the price becomes very close to EMS (so you might as well go with the faster service).

There seems to be some uncertainty about which cars this cable will work with. Would it be better to order one, ship to Australia inexpensively, test that on several cars, and then do a group buy? Are there people with different models near each other?

Incidentally, since most other stores seem to have sold out of these, it's possible that onlinecarstereo's shopping cart doesn't know their inventory. They too could be sold out.
