Replacing Mcintosh Sub Help

Postby peadya100 » Wed Nov 20, 2013 5:25 pm

Im upgrading the stereo and am removing the Mcintosh system completely.
Im looking to replace the sub with a slim line 8" sub. I was just going to run it as an open air sub like stock. Has anyone had any experience with this? Can it still sound ok without being in a sealed box? There is a pioneer sub thats designed for this use that ive had my eye on and I figured with some dynamat it might be ok???

Im not sure that polk one would fit in the wagon.. I think thered only be room for a slimline sub. Have any of the wagon owners out there tried to use a full depth sub?
