Replacing non-McIntosh with a McIntosh stereo + more

My theory is that this should work:
Removing my non-McIntosh stereo with a McIntosh stereo (pics attached) PLUS slotting in a new single DIN head unit.
The climate control on THIS McIntosh is separate (see pic) AND it looks like I can slot a single DIN stereo into that rectangular space.
BUT what ISO wiring harness should I get?
AND my OEM sat nav, can I still have the audio working? How?

As someone who actually has a McIntosh radio in their car, my initial reaction to this thread is, "Why would anyone intentionally install this into their car other than to return it to stock prior to selling?"

Pretty sure the OP wants to remove the rectangular part of the mcintosh to insert an aftermarket single din HU..

In which case would involve cutting plastic and even some plastic welding I imagine.. It is far from a direct swap.

Because if it all goes to plan the total cost to get iPod connectivity would be about $140.

Not sure why you would want to do it this way but you would need a harness to suit your head unit to ISO and an Aepro App090.. Check to make sure that the wires on the ISO connectors for each harness match up to each other.

Having had 2 Subys, one with a high spec integrated Mcintoss, and replaced both with a std HU, I agree that you have to be crzy. iN your pic the unit looks like a std DIN hole, but how are the AM/FM and station buttons, and the CD section connected ? As others have said, get the double din JDM facia, and put in something really up to date. I have a JVC DV6105 - plays DVDs - video or MP3 (4.7GB), has equalizer (Mcintoss not), optional Ipod input, aux in on the front, tons of power. I dont even miss the sub being disconnected.
