What color is McIntosh amp remote wire

Postby Troy » Wed Apr 10, 2013 12:41 pm

Hi all,

Trying to find a remote wire location, the stock McIntosh amp must have a remote wire, what color is it?
Or even a power? would that work?
last resort will be cigrette power

My understanding is that the cable between the McIntosh headunit and McIntosh amp deals with all that.

As its all self contained in 1 cable, it may be difficult to connect to that to output a remote turn on for the new amp.

Easiest way is to connect to cigarette lighter if keeping stock headunit.

Thanks. Used the cig lighter, was pretty easy to run the remote cord from the boot under the carpet to the centre console, sounds great now :D
Yea keeping the stock head unit, maybe one day change it but allot of work and cost involved in that.
