CarPc and Audio integration

Postby yardman » Wed Nov 28, 2012 3:42 pm

Some pretty clever carpc alternatives to the Factory Nav setup in the various topics on here, very impressive. However, one thing that puzzles me is interfacing with the existing Mcintosh audio setup.

Has anyone managed to integrate theirs to override the Radio/CD output with its own audio when needed and then switch back?

I imagine this is how the factory Nav set-up works for spoken voice commands but I can’t find any mention of people doing this. It seems everyone sends the carpc audio separately through AUX.

Any ideas?

Looked into this for my install... Decided it's easier to integrate radio and CD into the computer than to get it auto switching :P

The last idea I looked into was a Parrot bluetooth kit which has the option to interrupt the audio signal for bluetooth calls etc. That hit a dead end when I found out it only sends audio to 2/14 speakers which is useless for music...

I'm going to add digital radio to mine at some point, once there's good software available to support it :)
