gtliberty05 wrote:Hi to you all from Perth! I am new to this forum and would like some advice in regards to personal plates. My wife is trading her GT Liberty on another subi and no longer needs the 'GTLIBERTY' number plates. What sort of $$ would be a fair asking price for these custom plates? Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but I have heard various values ranging from next to nothing to the down right extravagant! Feedback appreciated! Cheers, Stew.
Being an owner of custom plates it would be completely dependent on who was buying them and how much they wanted them?
May I suggest you contact the dealer principals at the various Subaru dealerships and get an expression of interest from them.
I "heard" that one of the Sti's from Melville Subaru sold to someone who paid well over $5000 to get the dealer principal's WRX Sti plates that were on his car.
When the FREO plates sold FREO 001 went for $10,000 and FREO - 555 went for $2000 (to a 2 door Sti owner).
I hope that helps. My gut reaction is say $3k-$5k from a Subaru dealer.
For those that want to know , WA has a massive collection of cutomised plates. See
