I just got quoted $1480 to have a set of Hi tech quad mufflers bolted to my lib Am i right to be baulking at that price or is that fairly standard?

Guess I'll wait til Phatman is back in action!

At that price, I'd much rather just eat that $1400... in dollar coins at that. The other place I called quoted me $80 less!

They certainly aren't worth $1400.

Talk with Arith about getting into contact with Phat and if/when he'll be doing any more mufflers. Or look around for second hand STI's. Some of them have gone for under a grand in the last few months

Mine cost about $1100 about 12 months ago. And there was a group buy that got them down to about $900 I believe.

LOL! Can't wait for the Phat man eh? Understandable. The Phat Quads are good and decently priced compared to others on the market. The only problem is waiting for Phat to have some spare time to knock up a few sets. Phat did make a few spare sets after the group buy was closed, but those got snapped up within days.

Don't get me wrong, the HiTechs are decent mufflers as well, but I know people who have bought them for $600, so the $840 difference is all pure profit mark up.

Just comes down to trading time for money. You can pick up a set of mufflers now for that price, or wait for Phat and pay about $400 less.

Bahahaha... $1480 for mufflers. I'm DEFINITELY waiting for Phat! Never hurts to do your research though I rarely buy anything on impulse or without checking alternatives. Took me ages to decide what car to buy and find the perfect car for me.

Thats right I picked up my sti mufflers for $400. They came off a sedan but they still fit on my wagon VERY LUCKY

avon man, just get the phatmans one. 550 delivered, top quality i must say compare to the hi-techs. 1400 man...u can get other things bro!
