I wanted to replace the Datadot stickers which I assume will have to be removed for the window tint job. I called Subaru and enquired. How much :?:

$100 I assumed that was a set of ???

I'm not even shocked any more - what a rip off.

When I had my windscreen replaced, the installer just carefully peeled that sticker off the old screen, and stuck it onto the new one...

Just got back from the job - looks brilliant. I'll post more on my mod thread BUT in the end we matched the fronts to the rears with Solaguard 16% then darkened the rear windows and rear windscreen to get the "privacy" look back with 35%.

RE: the datadot stickers - That's exactly what we did. Removed and onto wax paper for storage. Might sell em at that price and help pay for the tint job ;)

IMHO it is not ideal to have the front glass very dark for the reason that other drivers can't see you. Yes even in the daytime it's frustrating/dangerous to not be able to see the other driver when negotiating intersections and having no idea if the other person has seen you!

Have the rear glass as dark as you want :D

Plus the cops in Sydney have been issued with light meters and are booking cars with too dark tint (<35% on the fronts).

8) Bob.
