Has anyone here tried the FW1 waterless car wash system? www.fw1.com.au

They were promoting this in Macq Ctr carpark the other day and gave me a demo on my wheel and glass.

I have a few problem spots on my wheels where the brake dust has baked onto the wheel surface in the corners (where the spokes meet the outer edge of the wheel). But one spray of this and a quick wipe cleaned the spot!! Moreover when the guy tried to rub some brake dust onto the cleaned surface, none of it stuck.

He then sprayed and wiped on a section of glass and pressed his fingers onto the cleaned part, again no finger marks.

Apparently the secret, apart from the cleaning agents, it leaves a layer of carnuaba wax that repels particles moisture etc, it contains no silicon. Also it is used by race teams in the US where having water in the pits to wash a car down is impractical. Dont know if I will be using it on my paintwork but will certainly use on wheels and glass.

Cost is $40 for a large 17.5oz can that I think will last me at least a year.

Seen it in action.. doesn't seem to be that bad.. never seen used on paint tho, but defo good for glass!

As for the race cars lol.. don't think they need it.. u seen them close up? shocking!

haha, i bet they never get a chance to use the products cause half the cars return with a broken front bar so they tear it off and slap another one on and there good to go

Thread dig... I just bought five of these because they do work. I was a bit skeptical at first, but it was good.

Just make sure your car isn't ridiculously filthy prior to using it, because that's what will scratch your paint. If you have caked mud, then water will be required.

I'm skeptical of all waterless washes and any product that does not require you to first wash your car property, i.e. shampoo with mitt + water + rinse. Without doing so you are just rubbing dirt and other contaminants around on the paint.

E.g. even with claybarring you have to wash the car first.

Digging up an old thread here, but whilst pulling up in the shops the other day they were giving demos in the car park, i ended up getting a can, and i reckon it works very well! The whole car was done in 30min, normally takes 2hrs using bucket and drying with micro fibre. The car was a LOT dirtier than i would have liked to be using a waterless wash, but i also thought it would be a good test for removing dirt and not scratching, and it passed with flying colours!! Works awesome on bird shit too!! IMHO this shit is pretty fkn good, and if you spend $100 or more you get a $30 rebate from the government for saving water!!

My only question is - is it silicon based? If it is, I'd steer well clear...

I occasionally use a DWG product which is silicon free, but I still prefer to wash with my lambs wool. LOL.

plus it says it on the can.
can even be used on window tint.

ive been using this on my car for about a year now and its great.
i still wash my car first with a pressure washer then use the fw-1, to really make it shine, windows rims everything.
the car still like shiny after a week of driving in the rain.
